Has anyone made a successful compensation claim of an air> of the EU?
Our return flight from Montego Bay to Heathrow with Air Jamaica was canceled because it has not sold enough tickets. We booked the next flight the next day and that was delayed after 6 hours! I have faxed to the airline sent a detailed letter and email twice. In addition to an automated response to emails I received no response after 12 days. Has anyone been successful in claiming compensation from the EU directive of EU company? I understand that each country must have a police force of the guidelines, but can not find any details on who to contact. I would appreciate any help you can get!
Unfortunately, the legislation only covers: (a) airlines in the EU or (b) air carriers are not based on EU, whose flight originated in the EU in both (b) that would have been covered had been delayed on the output leg, but not in the input leg. But there are "out" the terms of the weather and other non-carriers. I would suggest writing a letter and send it by certified mail. Faxes and emails are so easy for people to "lose." Then give 30 days and start climbing with evidence of publication. But to be honest, I do not think you will get more, in any case. Maybe a free drink voucher on your next flight on Air Jamaica.
