What do you think of the proposal to limit flight delays loaded on taxiways at the airport?
There is a proposal of no more than a delay of three hours. After all one can ask the plane landed. Of course, that means that everyone on the plane will have to wait while The plane taxis to a gate and find the ground staff and unloading the passenger (s) of luggage. Could result in even greater delays. As a commercial pilot and controller air traffic, I can say that the current ATC system was installed in the 1940 and the exponential growth of traffic is causing some of the delay. Bad weather creates more delays. Is usually not the airlines fault.
When combined with an update on the ATC system is then a good idea. Otherwise, the aircraft will be driving around the airport looking for a place to download. I think it would do better to prevent the aircraft leaving doors if you can not get off the ground in, say, two hours.
