Statistics – Confidence level and margin of error of the question?
I'm afraid it has come to this, but I can not find any site that I can point to practical application of what I know about levels of confidence and margin of error. Anyway here goes. If you fly a plane determined that claims to have cheap that are timed with a confidence level of 95% (.05 margin of error), is it possible for me to experience flight delays which has 10 times? Why?
Flights not arriving on time to 5% of the time. P (flight delayed) = 0.05 P (delayed 10 times in a row) = (0.05) ^ 10 (0.95) = 0 (almost) is roughly 0.05 margin of error. Given this information, in theory, is possible but not probable.
